FIVE SCHOOL DAYS UNTIL WINTER BREAK! I cannot believe how quickly the first half of this school year has passed. Fifth and third grade have gone on all grade field trips. Report cards have been sent home. Students celebrated a long Thanksgiving break. Now, we are in the midst of our holiday count down. ELP has been celebrating the upcoming season with "12 Days of Christmas in the Classroom"! Although "Christmas in the Classroom" sounds like it would only relate to Christmas Day, we have been studying all things winter (specific days listed below). It has been such a joy to see the students reading texts that they are interested in and making meaningful connections to their personal lives and experiences. In addition, we have been creating some hands on projects and crafts. You may have noticed the pictures in our slideshow of everyone in their winter coats........I don't want to give anything away.....you will see the final project soon! 12 Days of Christmas in the Classroom 12- Polar Express Day 11-Reindeer Day 10- Christmas Carol Day 9- Cookie Day 8- Kindness Day 7- Stocking Day 6- Santa Claus Around the World Day 5- Snow Day 4- Gingerbread Day 3- Elf Day 2- Candy Cane Day 1- Holiday Tree Day Lastly, room 26 is currently in the process of funding a classroom sensory corner with the help of donorschoose.org!
